Datza

Datza is the creator and visionary of Datza Studios, a plant-filled, non-heated yoga space rooted in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood since 2018.

For her, yoga is a lifelong journey – a path of liberation (moksha), presence, and realness. Her intention is to create a space where you can feel seen, grow stronger, soften, and become more free in body, mind, and spirit.

Born in Riga, Latvia, Datza grew up immersed in traditional music, dance, and sport, discovering early the joy of movement as expression. Yoga captivated her because it offered not only physical strength but also deep reflection, self-inquiry, and empowerment through grounded, inclusive practice.

Over the years, she has trained and apprenticed with teachers and mentors including Kathleen Hunt, Steve Davis, Raphan Kebe, Ellen Rose, Janet Stone, Elena Brower, Briohny Smyth,  Achintya Devi, and Ameya Cohen. Her path has woven together yoga and advanced mentorships with studies in Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, and the Priestess of the Rose path. These streams of wisdom continue to shape her teaching – grounding ancient practices in modern life, attuning with nature’s cycles, and guiding students toward transformation.

Datza’s classes blend tradition with edge: sometimes slow and restorative, other times fiery and challenging, always rooted in presence. A little mystical, a little wild, and always soulful – her guidance invites you into awareness of space, and into meeting yourself fully, again and again.
