Balance your effort with ease.

This workshop is designed to strengthen your practice and explore arm balances.

Fundamentals of Arm Balances

In this 75-minute arm balancing workshop, Amy will guide you through a variety of arm balances, breaking them down step by step, to help you build the confidence to incorporate them into your yoga practice.

Amy will use a variety of techniques including alignment cues, demonstrations, hands on assists, and props to explore a range of arm balances. During the workshop you can anticipate trying the following postures: Lolasana (“pendant pose”), Bakasana (“crow pose”), Parsva Bakasana (“side crow”), Bala Parsva Bhuja Dandasana (“baby grasshopper”), Astavakrasana (“eight angle pose”), Eka Pada Koundinyasana (“flying splits pose”), and close-legged and wide-legged L-sits.

This session will start with a warmup for the wrists, arms, and shoulders, incorporate core work to build a solid foundation, and unfold into an invigorating and creative yoga sequence with lots of opportunities to practice arm balances. After the yoga flow, you will have free time to explore, practice, and play with the arm balances of your choosing, with the option for assistance and/or physical adjustments.

Each of these arm balances include variations that are accessible to students of all levels with modifications and yoga props. So don’t worry if you can’t do the arm balances listed above – everyone will explore within their own capacities!

Come hang out with a great community of yogis and try something new!
