An immersive journey into ancient technologies of connection
What if, for a little while, you could step out of modern life and into a village from centuries ago?
A place where people gathered around an altar. Where stories were passed from person to person. Where people sang, moved, made offerings, tended the earth, honored their ancestors and marked life’s moments together.
Ceremonial Altar Tending is an invitation to experience a little of that world.
Drawing from Vedic and Indigenous wisdom traditions, we’ll explore some of humanity’s oldest technologies for connection: storytelling, sound, song, gesture, movement, breath, sensory ritual, reflection and offering.
Think of it as a gentle form of time travel through experience. For a while, we put down some of the patterns of modern Western life and explore what it might feel like to gather, participate and create meaning the way communities have done for generations.
At the center of our gathering is a shared ceremonial altar. We begin around it, and as the experience unfolds, the altar grows with us. Reflections, natural elements, intentions, gratitude and moments of insight become offerings, creating a living record of what our temporary little “village” has experienced together. Through cultural teachings, embodied practices, journaling, ritual and community sharing, we’ll explore our connection to self, body, one another, lineage, and the living world around us.
It’s about becoming curious about a fascinating question:
What did our ancestors understand about being human that our modern lives may have forgotten?
For a little while, come step into another way of being.
No prior spiritual or ceremonial experience is needed.
Space is limited, early registration is highly suggested. Registration deadline: October 9, 8:00pm.
