Meet Dylan
“My intent is to adapt the practice to the individual and make yoga accessible, safe and fun for all. I’m not one to use artificial yoga-speak. Rather, I break yoga down into plain English so that you can gain a greater awareness of your body and mind through proper alignment – one pose at a time, one breath at a time.

Many students come to me with existing chronic issues, such as back pain and anxiety. In all my classes, I provide individual attention. Regardless if you are a beginner or if you have been practicing longer than I have; if you are an athlete or a couch potato, I teach you the skills to expand your yoga practice with confidence into your life.

I got my start with yoga from a roommate’s Basic Yoga for Dummies DVD. I was home alone one day, and I thought, “Hmm, I’ll see what this is all about”. It was easy enough not to frustrate me and I instantly felt taller and just plain better after doing it. I was hooked from that first moment – over 15 years ago.

Soon after, I immersed myself in studying yoga, first on my own by diving into The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga by Swami Vishnu-Devananda. Then later, I found a real life teacher in Theresa Elliott, with whom I studied for nearly a decade, eventually completing my 500-hour advanced teacher training with Theresa and Kathryn Payne at Pacific Yoga Teacher Training in Seattle.

For over 12 years, I have taught throughout King County, at studios in Shoreline, Seattle and Federal Way. I have also led yoga for teens at Seattle’s YouthCare, workplace yoga at Bellevue College and a corporate law firm. I have co-led yoga teacher-training programs at Richmond Beach Yoga and Three Trees Yoga. I am thrilled to share what I have learned with vets through volunteering with the Veterans Yoga Project. I’m eternally grateful to the many students who entrust their yoga practice with me and laugh at my jokes in the classroom.”
