Yoga Nidra w/ Cheryl Acheson, September 22, 6:30-7:30pm

Yoga Nidra also known as yogic sleep is an ancient meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Some people drift in and out of sleep and wake states. Students find a comfortable position, like the prone position in Shavasana, and are guided to bring their awareness to specific parts of their body in a systematic fashion.

This meditation is intended to be extremely relaxing. Some say Yoga Nidra is better than sleep.

This class will begin with a few simple yoga poses that focus on calming the body and tuning into physical sensations. The meditation takes about 20-25 minutes.

Yoga Nidra is an excellent introduction to meditation because it requires no specific knowledge or experience of yoga. Everyone can enjoy Yoga Nidra as long as they have an interest in relaxation.

Meet Cheryl Acheson. She studied and taught yoga for 10+ years in Northern California. Her focus is always on the students in the room rather than teaching a specific style. Asana or poses, meditation and awareness to the breath are the hallmarks of each class as well as safe alignment. Her intention for every class is that students leave feeling better than when they walked in the door. First timers and students returning after a break are most welcome!
