Yoga Fundamentals w/ Cheryl, every Saturday starting September 7, 4:30-5:45pm

Yoga Fundamentals is a course for beginners and those wanting to revisit the fundamentals. Join in for all 4 sessions in a row or drop in when you can.

This 4 week course is designed for students to learn several foundational postures, breathing, alignment, guided relaxation & meditation. The sessions are a full practice with detailed instruction along with pockets of quiet. The classes are basic yet powerful and always urging students to work within their limits.

Yoga helps calm our nervous system and bring new vitality to our bodily systems. It promotes greater flexibility and mobility while building strength, balance and stability. Further practice helps to bring greater awareness to our actions from moment to moment, so we can drop what no longer serves and promote what feeds us positively.

During each session we will explore standing, seated and supine poses as well as twists, balance and relaxation. We will explore guided meditation and breath work.

Cheryl Acheson studied and taught yoga for 10+ years in Northern California. Her focus is always on the students in the room rather than teaching a specific style. Asana or poses, meditation and awareness to the breath are the hallmarks of each class as well as safe alignment. Her intention for every class is that students leave feeling better than when they walked in the door. First timers and students returning after a break are most welcome!
